Potential LEED Credits Using Jandris Concrete Masonry Units

LEED Credit Description Jandris CMU Option
MR Credit 2.1 & 2.2 Construction Waste Management:
Divert 50% – 75% From Disposal
Unused concrete masonry products can be redirected to the manufacturing process either for reuse or recycling. They can also be used as clean fill at the site, or can be crushed into aggregate for use as backfill or base materials.
MR Credit 4.1 & 4.2 Recycled Content Jandris Sustainablock Series CMU’s contain recycled SCM’s (Supplementary Cementitious Materials) and recycled aggregates.
MR Credit 5.1 & 5.2 Regional Materials Innovation in Design Jandris CMU’s are manufactured using local raw materials.
ID Credits 1 Innovation in Design Use Jandris Sustainablock CMU’s with reduced cement content.
Use Jandris CMU’s to reduce noise levels.
Use Architectural CMU’s to eliminate emissions from paint and stains and to reduce mold growth.
Minimize HVAC due to high thermal mass of Jandris CMU’s and high R-Value of the Hi-R insulated masonry system.
SS Credit 1 Site Selection Keystone Retaining Walls can minimize the developed footprint of a site and can help facilitate the preservation of wetlands.
SS Credit 2 Development Density Keystone Retaining walls maximize the buildable area in hilly terrains.
EA Credit 1 Optimize Energy Performance Use Hi-R insulation inserts to construct an energy efficient building envelope.
